Local Security Guard Shares Memories Of Jackson

BALTIMORE (WJZ) ―

A Baltimore security guard has a personal connection to the "King of Pop." The relationship dates back to when Michael Jackson was just a little prince.

Saly Thorner talks one-on-one with Bobby Finch.

The Dynamite 5 was a decoy for the Jackson 5!

In 1972, Bobby Finch was in a local band that helped the Jacksons escape their adoring fans. A photo was taken backstage that night. The picture shows Bobby to the right of Michael Jackson, when they were both around 12-years-old.

Another picture was taken at a concert in Richmond, Virginia. Michael's is shown at the bottom.

Fast forward to 1992, and the two would meet one more time at the Soul Train Awards.

Bobby has quite the memorabilia collection, but before you get any ideas, none of it's for sale.

"I will never do that. It's sentimental. You can't buy that stuff," said Finch. "Same thing, he loved the music, but he hated the business. You know, if Michael could have did without the fame and fortune and just could have done music, it would of been fine with him."

Bobby thinks the child abuse trial was the beginning of the end for Michael Jackson.

"He tried to help people and he got the shaft," said Finch. "I think Michael died of a broken heart, leave it at that.

Bobby Finch now works for United States Social Security Department, but he still hopes to own a record company someday.
