Mass. Teen Gets 20 Pounds Of Marijuana In Mail

Drugs Sent Via Federal Express, Police Say

MARSHFIELD, Mass. (CBS) ― A Marshfield teenager was arrested after $50,000 worth of marijuana was sent by Federal Express to her, police officials said Friday, CBS station WBZ-TV in Boston reports.

Police were tipped off that the pot was going to be delivered to her home on Lauras Lane, so they intercepted the package and arrested 19-year-old Alexandra Docanto.

The package, paid for in cash, had 20 pounds of pot worth $50,000. Police said it was sent from a privately owned mail center in California.

According to police, Docanto admitted she was expecting the package to be delivered to her but that the drugs were not for her. She told police she was supposed to get $200 for her role in the drug scheme.

It's unclear who the package was supposed to go to after the delivery.

Docanto's arraignment was held Thursday and she was released on personal recognizance.
