Buzzard Slams Through Plane Windshield Mid-Flight

Pilot Survives Mid-Air Scare

SACRAMENTO (AP) ― A California pilot got the shock of his life when a bird crashed through hit cockpit window, mid-flight.
 
Richard Roberts was flying home to Sacramento when a he hit a buzzard, reports CBS station KOVR-TV in Sacramento.
 
After getting the single engine Cessna under control, he ducked below the instrument panel for the rest of the flight. 

Roberts said he was was worried the windshield might have come apart while he was still in the air.

He declared a mayday but was able to land safely.
