Woman's Disappearance Unsolved After 20 Years
by Richard Sher
Baltimore, MD (WJZ) ―
It has been 20 years today since 23-year-old Bernadette Caruso left her job at Eastpoint Mall and disappeared.
Today, her family spoke with
WJZ's Richard Sher about the ongoing investigation.
"Bernadette and her ex-husband, Michael Caruso, were involved in a bitter custody battle when she vanished," says sister Darlene Huntsman.
Baltimore County Police say they have spoken with Caruso, a former Baltimore County police officer himself, several times and have never considered him a suspect.
"Michael Caruso has been questioned and re-questioned, and there is no reason at this time to bring charges against him," says Baltimore County Police spokesman Bill Toohey.
Caruso resigned from the force after he was charged with using excessive force.
