Woman's Body Found In Glen Burnie

GLEN BURNIE, Md. (AP) ― State police say the body of a woman was found on Route 100 in Glen Burnie early this morning.

The body was found around 1:30 a-m in westbound Route 100 between Ritchie Highway and Interstate 97.

State police spokesman First Sergeant Russell Newell says the woman in her mid-20s appears to have been struck by at least one vehicle. He says one motorist returned to the scene to say he may have hit the woman, but they're still looking for the original driver.

Investigators have not positively identified the woman and they are still trying to establish how and why she was struck. The body will be taken to the Office of the Medical Examiner in Baltimore for an autopsy.
