Body Identified As Missing Man In Annapolis Area

Crownsville, MD (WJZ) ― Anne Arundel County Police have identified a body found in a wooded area in Crownsville as Kirk Steven Fisher.

Last month the 55-year-old Fischer of the 1700 block of Bay Ridge Avenue in Annapolis was reported as a missing person to the Annapolis Police Department and had been the subject of a search since that date.

He was last seen on March 21, 2006, at the Annapolis Mall in Annapolis. Mr. Fischer suffered from schizophrenia and was known to be off his medication.

Late last week, items belonging to Mr. Fischer were located in a wooded area in the 600 block of Woodmans Way in Crownsville. An extensive search was conducted of the area using K9 and aviation units, however, Mr. Fischer was not located and the search was discontinued.

The search resumed Monday, and at approximately 2:30 p.m., Mr. Fischer was found deceased in a heavily wooded area in the 600 block of Woodmans Way in Crownsville.

No immediate cause of death could be determined and there is no indication of foul play at this time.

Mr. Fischer's body was taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore for an autopsy where a cause and manner of death will be determined.

The investigation continues.
