Flags At Half Staff For 4 Dead In Helicopter Crash

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) ― Gov. Martin O'Malley has ordered the state flag be flown at half staff in honor of four people who died when a medical helicopter crashed this weekend.

The medical helicopter was carrying victims of a Saturday night traffic accident when it went down around midnight in a park in District Heights.

Killed in the crash were 59-year-old pilot Stephen Bunker, 34-year-old flight paramedic Mickey Lippy, 39-year-old emergency medical technician Tanya Mallard and 18-year-old Ashley Younger.

Younger and Jordan Wells, who survived, were involved in the traffic accident in Charles County. Wells is listed in critical but stable condition at Shock Trauma in Baltimore.
