Charges Filed In Accident That Killed Doctor

GEORGETOWN, Del. (AP) ― An 18-year-old Millsboro, Del., man has been charged in a summer traffic accident in Rehoboth Beach that killed a prominent Baltimore-area physician.

Barry Boulden was arraigned Thursday on one count of operation of a vehicle causing the death of another person, also known as the Death by Motor Vehicle Law.

Authorities say Boulden fell asleep on July 28 while driving on Route 1 near the Indian River Inlet Bridge. His car struck
44-year-old John Griffith, who was fixing his bicycle on the side of the road.

Griffith was the director of the Johns Hopkins Fibroid Center, which provides treatment for women with uterine fibroids.

Boulden has been released on unsecured bond.
