Couple Sentenced For Dealing Crack In Baltimore

BALTIMORE (AP) ―

A Baltimore couple who headed a major crack cocaine ring that supplied drugs to the bars in Fells Point and southeast Baltimore is going to prison.

U.S. District Judge Andre Davis sentenced 35-year-old Humberto Gasca to more than 13 years in prison. Prosecutors say the fact that Gasca is a career criminal and the mastermind of the drug ring contributed to the lengthy sentence.

Gasca's wife, 41-year-old Josefina Quinonez of Aurora, Colorado, will serve 10 years in prison.

Humberto Gasca pleaded guilty to supervising and supplying crack cocaine to his wife and 14 other people from late 2005 through December 2006.

Prosecutors say the ring also produced fake drivers' licenses, social security cards and registration documents.
