Teacher Sex Abuse Conviction Upheld

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) ― The Maryland Court of Special Appeals has upheld the conviction a former middle school teacher convicted of sexual abuse of a minor last year.

Christopher Tribbitt, 28, of Denton was convicted of one count of sexual abuse of a minor. He now faces 18 months in jail.

The former physical education and health teacher at Centreville Middle School was accused of having a two-year relationship with the girl.

The relationship allegedly began when the student was an eighth-grader and played in an after-school volleyball program run by Tribbitt.
