Bowling Brook Considers Selling Buildings

KEYMAR, Md. (AP) ― A now-closed residential juvenile treatment school in Carroll County may sell the buildings on its campus to repay its creditors.

That's according to the president of the foundation that opened Bowling Brook Preparatory School in Keymar. President Jennifer Munch tells The Carroll County Times the school will first try to restructure its debt, but she says it's very possible the buildings will be sold.

Bowling Brook closed this month after a teenager died in a struggle with staff members.

The school owes about $1.7 million plus attorney's fees and interest to the Westminster Union Bank. The bank has filed court papers claiming the school's closure last week defaulted the school's loan.
