Owings Mills Teen Gets 50 Years For Attempted Rape

TOWSON, Md. (AP) ― A Baltimore County judge has sentenced an Owings Mills teen to 50 years in prison for trying to rape a 63-year-old woman whose home he robbed.

Eighteen-year-old Loren White was convicted in June of attempted first-degree rape in the January attack.

Prosecutors say White forced his way into the woman's Owings Mills townhouse as she returned home from grocery shopping. They say he pointed what appeared to be a handgun, but turned out to be a pellet gun, at her and ripped off her clothing.

Prosecutors say White stole the woman's purse and tried to rape her, but the woman fought back, taking the pellet gun away from him. White pushed the woman down the basement stairs and fled in her car, but was found several hours later.
