Ravens Coach Waits For News On Smith, Boller

BALTIMORE (AP) ―

The preseason is over and Ravens coach John Harbaugh still hasn't chosen a starting quarterback for the season opener Sept. 7.

Rookie Joe Flacco made his second pre-season start Thursday night and went 8-for-13 for 72 yards. He left early in the second quarter after directing a 63-yard drive that produced a field goal.

Flacco started because Troy Smith was still ailing from infected tonsils and Kyle Boller is nursing a serious shoulder injury.

Harbaugh says he's waiting for more information about Boller and Smith during the next few days before he chooses a starter.

The Ravens signed free agent Casey Bramlet hours before last night's game and used him over the final three periods. He went 7-for-21 for 100 yards and two interceptions.
