Ravens Safety, Former Teammate, End Assault Cases

BALTIMORE (AP) ― Baltimore Ravens safety Gerome Sapp and former teammate Joe Maese have ended the second-degree assault cases they filed against each other after an altercation at an Inner Harbor nightspot.

A Baltimore City district judge dismissed the cases Monday after both men refused to testify against each other.

Maese's attorney, Michael DeHaven, says Maese and Sapp have resolved their differences.

Maese filed charges against Sapp after he alleged Sapp attacked him in the stairwell of a bar at Power Plant Live in late December. Sapp then filed the same charges against Maese.

Maese was the Ravens' long snapper, but was not re-signed after the 2004 season.
