Michael Jordan Looks Forward To Meeting Phelps

BALTIMORE (AP) ―

When he was little, Michael Phelps used to measure his hand against Michael Jordan's handprint on Gatorade jugs. Now the Olympic swimming star may get a chance to shake that hand.

Phelps, who won eight gold medals at the Olympics in Beijing, has repeatedly said he's like to meet the retired basketball star -- and Jordan has received the message.

Estee Portnoy, Jordan's publicist says "Michael (Jordan) is flattered and looking forward to meeting him." She says they've contacted Phelps' agent and are waiting to hear back.

Phelps and his agent, Peter Carlisle of Octagon, couldn't be reached on the road, but another Octagon employee, Scott Horner, says Phelps will be excited to hear that Jordan is interested.
