Major League Baseball has released dozens of players' names in its steroid investigation.
Gigi Barnett has more on the list and the Orioles named.
Of the more than 80 players named in the Mitchell Report, 19 of them are current or former Orioles.
Rafael Palmeiro and Miguel Tejada are some of those named that you may not be surprised to see on the list, but it also names players like Brian Roberts.
The report blames everyone from baseball commissioner Bud Selig down to the players for failing to recognize the steroid problem early on.
"It is a fact that between five and seven percent of the Major League players who participated in anonymous survey testing in 2003, tested positive," said Senator George Mitchell.
While some have characterized the Mitchell Report as a bombshell, there's not much in it that's surprising regarding the O's.
Baltimore has been "steroid central" for the past five years and Oriole names that were known and suspected have re-surfaced in the report.
Maryland congressman Elijah Cummings points to a "culture of cheating." He's as outspoken now as he was back in 2005 when Raphael Palmeiro tested positive for steroids.
"You gotta have zero tolerance. I mean, come on, we're either gonna have a fair game where people know the product that they're watching or we're gonna go on and watch people using drugs cheating on a baseball field," said Cummings.
Fewer than half the players named in the report are still active. Mitchell recommends that baseball not seek punishment for those accused. Instead, he says the focus should be on looking forward.
