Friedgen: "You Can Put The Blame On Me"

COLLEGE PARK, Md. (AP) ― Maryland football coach Ralph Friedgen says the blame for Saturday's loss to Virginia rests with him.

He says his team wasn't prepared. It was Maryland's first shutout loss since 2004.

Running back Da'Rel Scott was held to just 36 yards and receiver Darrius Heyward-Bey had no receptions.

Friedgen says his team didn't quit, they just didn't play very well.

With the loss, the Terps fell to 4-2 for the season and 1-1 in the Atlantic Coast Conference.

Maryland is off this week and will host Wake Forest on Oct. 18.
