Maryland Hosts Vermont; Williams Seeks 400th Win

COLLEGE PARK, Md. (AP) ― Maryland basketball coach Gary Williams can notch his 400th career victory Friday night when Maryland hosts Vermont at the Comcast Center.

The Terrapins are 2-0 but struggled in both games to sink shots and make plays early. Williams says it's typical of a young team. However, the Maryland defense stifled both Bucknell and Youngstown State -- holding them to 32 percent and 33 percent shooting.
 
The Vermont Catamounts are 1-1 and are led by junior power forward Marqus Blakeley.
