Ravens Fire Brian Billick

Baltimore Went 5-11 This Year

BALTIMORE (CBS) ― Baltimore Ravens head coach Brian Billick has been fired.

The team held a news conference 3:30 p.m. Monday to discuss developments.

The Ravens went 5-11 this season.

Billick has been coach for the Ravens for nine seasons. The team won the Super Bowl in 2000.

Billick had signed a four-year extension when the team went 13-3 in the regular season in 2006.

Billick, 53, compiled an 85-67 record during his time in Baltimore. The Ravens, who won the AFC North Championship in 2006, had a nine-game losing streak this year.

Earlier this month, Billick said he would return in 2008, but there was no confirmation at that time from Ravens owner, Steve Bisciotti.
