Michael Phelps is arguably the greatest American swimmer of all-time, and his best performances may not have even come yet. The Baltimore native won a record 8 gold medals at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, including six golds. He has numerous world records and was named the World Swimmer of the Year four times.
