Fewer Cars On The Road This Fourth Of July

BALTIMORE (WJZ) ― The July Fourth holiday has officially started.  That means people are expected to hit the beach or take a vacation out of the state, but the economic downfall hast most people thinking again.

Even though gas is far cheaper this year, more people are staying close to home.

AAA expects 37.1 million travelers to take a trip of 50 miles or more away from home this year, a decrease of 1.9 percent from last year.

The volume on Route 50 has been low for most of the day.
