Special Ship Arrives At Naval Academy

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (WJZ) ― It's one of the most technologically advanced ships in the world and it has just arrived at the U.S. Naval Academy.

Jessica Kartalija reports the HSV 2 Swift is one fast ship.

"Basically, we're just trying to open up new ideas to the Mids for them to be able to see another side of the Navy they might not usually be exposed to," said David Hoffman with the U.S. Navy.

The ship is one of the fastest ships in the Navy.

"It is absolutely incredible.  There is nothing else like it.  It kind of sours you to any other type of surface ship because we get to do things that no one else gets to do.  It's amazing," said Erik Patton with the U.S. Navy.

The Swift will be in Annapolis until Nov. 19 and is open to the public.  Anyone can come take a tour Thursday-Saturday 8 a.m.-4 p.m. and Sunday 1 p.m.-4 p.m.
