Lady Terps Coach Expecting Twins

BALTIMORE (WJZ) ― Her Lady Terps are 20-1 overall, 4-0 in the Atlantic Coast Conference, ranked fourth in the nation.

This year, March Madness has extra meaning for head coach Brenda Frese and her husband, Mark Thomas. They're expecting twins, their first children, on March 11.

"You know, carrying twins is tough.  I don't have the stamina to do some things around our house.  Walking steps is a difficult task," Frese told Richard Sher.

Brenda spends home games in an easy chair while Assistant Coach Daron Park works the sideline.

"You knew the babies were coming, but it really could be any time now," Park said.

Frese says her husband has been fabulous during the pregnancy, helping her do everything including tying her shoes, which she's been unable to do since October.

She's not sure how much time she'll be missing when the twins arrive, but said, "I'm very fortunate to have such a wonderful staff to back me up. The twins are a dream (or dreams) come true."
