Jeppi Nut Voluntarily Recalling 2 Peanut Products
BALTIMORE (AP) ―
Jeppi Nut and Candy Company says it is voluntarily recalling two products that may contain peanuts produced by a company whose Georgia plant has been linked to a salmonella outbreak.
Jeppi announced Tuesday that no illnesses have been reported, but customers are being urged to return the products for a full refund. The products were distributed in Maryland to retailers and sold by mail order and in its retail store. The products were sold in one-pound clear plastic bags with a Jeppi label marked either "French Burnt Peanuts" with the UPC code 010288915903 or "Sugar Free Chocolate Covered Peanuts" with the code 010288914906.
Jeppi President Ted Pavlos says his company doesn't buy peanuts from Peanut Corp. of America, but two suppliers buy peanuts from the company.
