Wegmans Sorbet Recalled
AKRON, N.Y. (AP) ―
Perry's Ice Cream is recalling 37,600 cartons of Wegmans Sorbet because it might contain undeclared milk, which could cause a severe or life-threatening reaction in people who have milk allergies.
The company, based in Akron (N.Y.) says there has been one report of a reaction.
The recall includes lemon, raspberry, green apple and pink grapefruit sorbet sold in 16-ounce cartons. The product was distributed throughout Wegmans Food Markets in New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Virginia and Maryland.
The company says the undeclared milk was the result of cross-contamination from a breakdown in the company's production process. It has since been corrected.
Customers can return the affected items to Wegmans for a full refund.
