Wegmans Chain Expands Recall Of Baked Goods

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (AP) ― A grocery chain is expanding its voluntary recall of store-made bagels and bialys to include Challah bread and rolls.

Wegmans Food Markets Inc. first announced a recall Wednesday because a metal spring from a mixer may have gotten into dough, posing a possible choking hazard. The problem was discovered after a customer complaint. There have been no reported injuries.

The baked goods were sold in Wegmans stores in New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Virginia and Maryland between June 19 and Sept. 11, 2008. The recall doesn't affect packaged breads or rolls sold in the commercial bakery section.

Customers may return the products to Wegmans for a full refund.
