Biden To Vigorously Challenge Palin

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (AP) ―

Democratic vice presidential nominee Joe Biden says he'll vigorously challenge Republican Sarah Palin on the issues, but will refrain from personal attacks.

Biden made the remarks Thursday in response to a question from a woman attending his forum on national security in military-heavy Virginia Beach. The woman asked Biden to promise to be tough on Palin.

Biden said he was raised never to attack the other person, but said he would be unrelenting in challenging Palin on the issues. Biden later spoke to more than 150 people at a town-hall meeting in Manassas, Va., addressing economic issues.

He complimented Palin for poise and impressively delivering her speech Wednesday at the Republican convention. But he said she and other GOP speakers failed to address Americans' concerns about the faltering economy.
