White House Upset With N. Korea's Missile Testing
WASHINGTON (AP) ―
The White House says North Korea shouldn't be testing-firing its missiles in the midst of stalled talks on ending its nuclear weapons program.
Presidential spokesman Gordon Johndroe said Friday that "this kind of activity is not constructive."
Johndroe says North Korea should instead focus on delivering a complete list of all its nuclear weapons activities and on finishing the agreed-upon disablement of its nuclear program.
Thursday night's short-range missile launches come at a time of increased tensions between North and South Korea. Pyongyang blames Washington for the deadlocked nuclear talks and warns that it will slow ongoing disablement of its atomic facilities.
