Baltimore Officials Declare Weekend Heat Alert
BALTIMORE (AP) ―
Baltimore's health commissioner says a heat alert has been issued for Saturday and Sunday.
Commissioner Joshua Sharfstein says six emergency cooling centers will offer fans, cold water and ice to city residents.
The centers will be open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and include locations on York Road, Cherry Hill Road, Ayrdale Avenue, Pennsylvania Avenue, Bank Street and Federal Street.
City Recreation and Parks facilities are also open to residents seeking heat relief.
