Birth Of Twins Broadcasted From Md. To Afghanistan

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (WJZ) ― The births of twins is broadcasted from Anne Arundel Medical Center to their father in Afghanistan.

Richard Sher reports Declan and his baby sister Audrey were delivered by C-section by Dr. Scott Hankinson Tuesday night.

The blessed 25-minute event was recorded then fed to their father Troy overseas.

"Everybody pulled together to get the equipment set up ahead of schedule so Troy could see it happen. He's downloaded it and watches it all the time. This is as good as it can get," said the newborns' mom, Bridgitte.

"It's always fun to deliver beautiful babies. These were special because their dad got to watch it," said Dr. Hankinson.

"I miss Troy terribly. I know he'd love to be here. Hopefully the four of us will be together some time this summer," said Bridgitte.

Anne Arundel Medical Center doctors delivered more than 5,500 babies in 2007.
