Baltimore County police have arrested a Parkton man who they believe drove the stolen pickup truck that struck a house in Hereford, killing a woman sleeping inside.
Police spokesman Cpl. Mike Hill says 30-year-old Aubry Miller Jr. is charged for now with motor vehicle theft, fourth-degree burglary and grand theft. Hill says Miller has not been charged in the crash, but he says prosecutors are reviewing the crash investigation for possible charges.
"We had a slight rash of thefts in this area from vehicles. We have found items in this vehicle that indicate this person may be responsible," he said.
Hill says investigators determined the truck was stolen from Sparks early Tuesday.
"I'd kind of like to hit him once or twice," Charlie Ryan, the truck owner's son, said. "It's not right, depriving a family of a mother."
Gigi Barnett reports the crash occurred about 5 a.m. Tuesday at a home in the 16800-block of York Road. Mary Sullivan, 46, was killed while in a first-floor bedroom.
"I love my sister. That's the extent of what I'm saying right now. I don't have anything else to say. Bottom line, I lost my sister to some stupidity," Mary Sullivan's brother said.
Miller's last known address is in Parkville. Next door to that house is the mother of his five-year-old daughter. She didn't want to be identified, but said, "It's devastating for the family that lost a loved one and for Aubry. I don't think it was intentional. I know it wasn't intentional," she said.
Hill says Miller is also wanted by authorities in York County, Pa.
