Fatal Fall Kills Glen Burnie Hunter

DAVIDSONVILLE, Md. (AP) ―

A Glen Burnie hunter is dead after Maryland Natural Resources Police say he fell out of his tree stand.

Police say 46-year-old Joseph Adams was bowhunting on private property Saturday near Davidsonville when he fell about 15 feet. A friend heard Adams yell and called 911 when he found Adams lying on the ground. Police say Adams was unresponsive when his friend found him.

Emergency crews went to the 2400-block of Rutland Road near the accident. Adams was pronounced dead at Anne Arundel Medical Center.

Police say an autopsy will be performed and officers are still investigating. Adams wasn't using a safety harness when the accident happened.

According to police, 70 percent of hunting accidents are tree-stand related.
