Teens Struck By Train While On ATV

CHASE, Md. (WJZ/AP) ― Amtrak says two boys riding an all-terrain vehicle were injured when they were struck by an Amtrak Acela train in Chase.

Amtrak spokesman Cliff Cole says the boys were struck about 7:25 p.m. Sunday near the 100 block of Earls Road.

A Baltimore County fire department communications officer says one boy was seriously injured and might have lost an arm. The boy was transported to Shock Trauma in Baltimore. The other boy was taken to Johns Hopkins Children's Center. His injuries are believed to be non-life threatening.

The train was heading from Boston to Washington and stopped at the accident scene. Passengers were taken by regional train to Washington.
