Teacher's Assistant Charged With For Sex With Teen

SALISBURY, Md. (AP) ― Police in Wicomico County have charged a Pittsville Elementary and Middle School teacher's assistant with having sex with a 14-year old student.

Wicomico County state's attorney Davis Ruark says 23-year-old Jenna Ashley Herrmann, of Salisbury allegedly had sex with the teen.

They believe the Salisbury University intern only had a sexual relationship with the one boy and the alleged incidents occurred at either the victim's or suspect's homes over the last two months.

Hermann is charged with two counts each of second-degree custody child abuse, third-degree sex offense, sex abuse of a minor and fourth-degree sex offense.

She's being held at the Wicomico County Detention Center on a $100,000 bond.

University officials have suspended Herman from her duties at Pittsville and she's been put on interim suspension by the school.
