A.A. Co. Fire Dept Investigating Suspicious Device

BROOKLYN PARK, Md. (WJZ) ― Deputy State Fire Marshals with the State Fire Marshals Bomb Squad were called to #11 4th Avenue in Brooklyn early Wednesday evening to support the Anne Arundel County Police and Fire Department after a suspicious package was discovered.

Investigators learned the resident, who is a collector of various metals and other collectibles, brought home a 3 inch by 12 inch stainless steel pipe. The pipe contained various electrical components but was open at both ends. The man realized that the pipe may have been an explosive device and notified the Anne Arundel County Police and Fire Department. County Police requested the State Fire Marshal's Bomb Squad be dispatched.

Bomb technicians, after careful examination of the pipe, determined that there were no explosives contained inside the pipe. The Annapolis City Fire Marshal's Office Bomb Squad assisted in the operation.
