Teacher Charged With Sexually Abusing Student

ELLICOTT CITY, Md. (WJZ) ― Howard County police have charged a teacher from a Washington, D.C. charter school with bringing a 14-year-old male student to his home in Ellicott City and sexually abusing him.

Ricardo Antonio Cuaderes, 57, is charged with child sexual abuse and multiple counts of sex offenses.

The victim, a student at Young America Works, a public charter vocational high school, reported to police that he had engaged in sexual contact with Cuaderes, a teacher at the school, in Howard County.

Howard county detectives believe Cuaderes drove the student from D.C. to his home, where the sexual contact took place.

Cuaderes is charged with one count of child sexual abuse, three counts of second-degree sex offenses and two counts of third-degree sex offenses.

He is currently in the Howard County Detention Center on $50,000 bond.
