Police Make Arrest In Downtown Stabbing

Baltimore City Police say two teens were stabbed in an incident in downtown Baltimore on Saturday night.

Baltimore City Police say two teens were stabbed in an incident in downtown Baltimore on Saturday night.
At around 10:30 a.m., Saturday, a city officer stumbled upon a group of teens fighting at the intersection of Baltimore and Charles Streets.
When the officer identified himself, the group stopped fighting and began to flee, but the officer detained one of the suspects.
Subsequently the officer found two victims who had been stabbed.
An unidentified 19-year-old male sustained multiple stab wounds to his sides. He was taken to Shock Trauma where he underwent surgery. He is listed in critical condition tonight.
The second victim a 14-year-old had a superficial wound to the chest. He was taken to Johns Hopkins pediatric unit and had non-life threatening injuries.
The suspect has been identified as 33-year-old Derrick Thornton.
Authorities say he will be charged with first-degree attempted murder, and first and second-degree assault.
