Md. Man Found Guilty In Double Stabbing

ELLICOTT CITY, Md. (AP) ― A Howard County judge has found a man guilty of breaking into the Columbia home of his ex-girlfriend's mother and her fiancee and stabbing them.

State's attorney spokesman Wayne Kirwan says Gregory Imes Jr. was found guilty late Wednesday of two counts each of attempted second-degree murder and first-degree assault and breaking and entering.

Imes' attorney did not deny that Imes stabbed two people, but argued that the attacks were unplanned and did not constitute attempted first-degree murder.

Imes' sister, Melinda Allen, testified that Imes told her he intended to kill his girlfriend of six months after she broke up with him.
