Man Charged With Attempted Murder After Stabbing

(WJZ) Howard County Police have obtained an arrest warrant for a Baltimore man in the stabbing of his ex-girlfriend's current boyfriend.  Kazeem Akinniyi, 25, is charged with attempted murder, assault, breaking and entering, and reckless endangerment.

Police responded to a call in the 5900 block of Turnabout Lane in Columbia around 4:50 a.m. on Dec. 23 and found a man, Jefferson Bolden, in an apartment suffering from multiple stab wounds.  He was transported to Shock Trauma in serious condition.

A woman in the residence told police that she and Bolden were asleep and awakened when they heard the front door kicked in.  She reported that Akinniyi, her ex-boyfriend appeared in the bedroom and began stabbing Bolden, her current boyfriend.  She told police Akinniyi tried to stab her, but missed.

The woman told police Bolden tried to escape through the front door, but it was jammed closed.  She reported Akinniyi caught up to Bolden and began stabbing him again.  She said Akinniyi then tried to leave through the front door, but also found it jammed.  The woman told police Akinniyi jumped from a window to the ground and was injured from the fall.

Police found Akinniyi outside near the apartment building.  He was transported to Shock Trauma in serious condition.

Akinniyi will remain under police guard at the hospital until he is released, likely in a few days.  At that time, he will be formally charged.

Bolden suffered multiple stab wounds and remains in serious condition.  The woman in the apartment was not injured.
