The Maryland General Assembly's special session in November cost taxpayers $360,873.
That's according to Karl Aro, the executive director of the Department of Legislative Services.
The three-week session cost an average of $17,184 a day. Aro says that's less than initial estimates, which put the cost at between $24,000 and $26,000 a day.
Aro says the costs could be paid out of contingency and unencumbered funds and not from the General Assembly's $72 million budget.
