Md. Soldier Dies In Afghanistan

BALTIMORE (AP) ―

The Pentagon says a soldier based at Fort Hood has died in Afghanistan.

The Department of Defense announced Sunday that 26-year-old Staff Sgt. David L. Paquet of Rising Sun, Md. died on Wednesday at Combat Outpost Vegas, Afghanistan. The department says Paquet died of undetermined causes while conducting a patrol and the incident is under investigation.

Paquet was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 26th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division at Fort Hood, Texas.
