State Plows To Be Fueled With Biodiesel Blend

HANOVER, Md. (AP) ―

Snowplows will be a little greener while they clear the white stuff from Maryland highways this winter.

State highway officials say the fuel used by their fleet will be 5 percent biodiesel by the end of the year, and they hope to increase the blend to 20 percent next year. Biodiesel is made entirely from soybean oil, which burns cleaner and is a renewable resource.
