Teen Rescued In Sledding Accident

CAPE ST. CLAIRE, Md. (WJZ) ― Firefighters rush to the scene of a sledding accident in Anne Arundel County.

Captain Mike Perry reports it happened around 4:30 p.m. Monday at Holly Oak Road and Browns Woods Road.

A 15-year-old female was sledding in the rear of her home when she slammed into a tree.

It took 20 minutes to reach the teen.  It took a dozen firefighters to get her out of the wooded area. Once she was rescued she had to be taken about a quarter of a mile into a waiting ambulance.

She was taken to Shock Trauma.  Her injuries are considered serious, but not life threatening.
