Police Hope Sketches Lead To Skeleton ID

BALTIMORE (WJZ) ― After four months, there is a face on the skeleton found in the woods at the end of Strathdale Road in Northeast Baltimore.

Richard Sher reports the remains were found April 30 by a woman who says she was looking for scrap metal. There were no identification or personal effects found with the skeleton.

Lead City Homicide Detective Robert Dohony contacted Det. Steve Fox in Baltimore County to see if there were any missing persons in his files. Fox put out an email to which Detective Evelyn Grant, a forensic composite sketch expert working out of the Essex precinct, responded.

Grant developed the sketches of an African-American man, 24-27 years of age, 5'7" medium build.

"I gave the skull to her and she was able to come up with the sketches that we have today. I think it's amazing," Dohony said.

"We took the skeleton to the medical examiner, and their scientists were able to do tests that determined that this person had been shot to death," Baltimore City Police spokesman Officer Troy Harris said.

If you have any information, please call City Homicide at 410-396-2100.
