Md. Man Charged In Harford Co. Shooting, Car Theft
EDGEWOOD, Md. (AP) ―
The Harford County Sheriff's Office says an Edgewood man has been charged in a shooting on Christmas Eve.
Police say 33-year-old Richard Wagner met 23-year-old Benjamin Freeman on Wednesday to buy heroin.
They say Wagner picked up Freeman and another person and they drove to Flying Point Road, where they stopped to relieve themselves in the woods.
As they walked back to the car, Freeman took Wagner's cash, shot him and took off in Wagner's car.
Police say after Freeman was arrested, he confessed to robbing and shooting Wagner.
Freeman was charged with attempted first- and second-degree murder, first- and second-degree assault, armed robbery, carjacking and other charges and is being held without bond at the Harford County Detention Center.
