Suspect Surrenders In Caroline Shooting

DENTON, Md. (AP) ―

The suspect in a shooting that injured two women has surrendered to the Caroline County Sheriff's Office.

Authorities say 34-year-old Dontaye Lake of Gwynn Oak surrendered Monday and has been ordered held without bond.

The shooting occurred July 20 during a party for the Thunder Guard motorcycle club, at the club's lodge on Poplar Neck Road.

Authorities say Lake had been physically removed from the party, but returned with a handgun, opened fire, then fled. The two women, ages 47 and 22, were wounded by the bullets and needed treatment at Shock Trauma in Baltimore.

Lake was charged in a warrant with two counts each of first- and second-degree assault, four counts of reckless endangerment, two handgun crimes and disorderly conduct.
