For the fourth time in recent days, a woman was jumped at a city bus stop and brutally raped. Police believe at least two of the rapes are connected, and some officers are going undercover to catch the suspect.
Kai Jackson reports until they catch this rapist, city police are arming women with vital information so they don't become the next victim.
Baltimore police are investigating a rape that's similar to a series of sexual assaults that investigators believe may be related.
The latest attack took place near a bus stop in the 2700-block of Brendan Avenue early Wednesday morning. The victim told police a man with a light colored handgun approached her, dragged her to an alley and then assaulted her.
"We've been working with our partners at MTA. There's been an increase in patrols and enforcement from decoys," said Det. Nicole Monroe, Baltimore City Police spokesperson. "We're working hard."
Police said Monday they were investigating eight other rapes that have occurred since Oct. 20, three of which occurred near bus stops and may be connected.
However, police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi says the suspect description in the latest attack does not match the description in the earlier rapes. Also, the suspect in the most recent rape was carrying a handgun, while in the earlier assaults, the suspect used a shard of glass.
Police have targeted the areas where the attacks occurred for additional enforcement.
