Teen Says Teacher Stabbed Him With Pencil

RANDALLSTOWN, Md. (WJZ) ― Anger is expressed by a Baltimore County mother after she says a teacher attacked her teenage son in the classroom.

Kai Jackson reports the Randallstown High School student says the teacher attacked him with a pencil, scratching him on the wrist.

Just above his wrist, a Randallstown High School senior, who doesn't want to reveal his identity, says he was stabbed by his teacher in class.

The teen says it happened when he walked to his teacher's desk to get an ink pen.

"I immediately pulled my hand back, and I said, 'Did you just stab me?' And she said, 'And cool, I will do it again. Next time I'll stab you to death,'" said the student.

Police say witnesses they interviewed contradict the student's version and says the teacher told him to sit down.

Baltimore County Police say no arrest will be made.

"By law, this is a misdemeanor, and unless the officer actually sees it, or has other information, it does not meet the requirements for him to actually make an arrest at the time," said Cpl. Mike Hill, spokesperson for the Baltimore County Police.

That's not acceptable to the teen's mother.

"It's not right for him to do it and it's not right for her to do it as a teacher. We send our children to school every day and put them in the hands of teachers to take care of them, not to assault them," said the boy's mother.

At this time it doesn't appear that any criminal action will be taken against the teacher.

The teen's mother says had her son been misbehaving, the teacher should have written him up or sent him out of the classroom.

The teen wasn't suspended. He was back in school Thursday, further proof, says the mother, that he did nothing wrong.

Baltimore County schools call the incident unfortunate.

The teacher was not in class Thursday.
