Several People Injured After School Bus Tips Over

CHASE, Md. (WJZ) ― A school bus accident sends several people to the hospital.

Weijia Jiang reports the bus rolled over on its side when it hit a ditch around 11 a.m. Wednesday on Ebenezer Road just west of Earls Road.

Baltimore County Police say five adults and two children were taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.

"We basically right off the bat tried to take care of the injured people first and make sure there were no safety hazards, so no one else would get injured while we were there," said Lt. Paul Eurice.

Officials say the bus was headed to a camp at Gunpowder Falls State Park.

A spokesperson for the bus company said it was the first time there had been an accident for any of his 100 buses.

The cause of the accident is not yet known.
