Students Hospitalized After Md. School Bus Crash

POTOMAC, Md. (AP) ― A school bus accident in Montgomery County has left some middle school students injured and hospitalized.

A Montgomery County Fire and Rescue spokesman says the bus collided with a car about 3 p.m. Wednesday at Regency Drive and Tuckerman Lane in Potomac.

Spokesman Pete Piringer says there were 40 seventh-grade students on board, and they were returning to St. Andrew's Episcopal School after a field trip.

Piringer says the students walked a few blocks from the crash site back to the school and were evaluated for injuries. He says about 16 students complained of injuries and two students were taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.   The other students were released to their parents.

Piringer also says the cause of the accident is being investigated.
